I'm Smokin'!

My car for the most part seems to run perfectly, it takes more cranks the usual to start, by it idles and runs fine. However during the day if I slam it in first gear, I put out a billowing black smoke cloud. At night, I can see my pillar of smoke in the headlights of cars in all gears at full boost. However, I don't think I'm running rich as O2 according tomy logger evens out at about .82V when I hit closed loop mode. Any ideas?

Burning oil perharps but the smoek is not completly black.

When you hit closed loop your O2 readings should fluctuate near center at idle, center is 0.5 volts. 0.4-0.6 volts is usually normal at idle, 0.82 volts is on the rich side if you are idling but normal if you are accelerating.

Is your car using any oil or coolant?

How is your fuel economy, has it gotten worse?

A worn turbo, bad valve guides or seals could also cause smoking.

Bad valve guides or seals will cause your car to smoke when it is warmed up and sits at idle for a while then accelerated.
