no compression

my #4 cylinder is not building any compression what so ever and 1-3 cylinders compression went up after i put oil in the holes for the compression test so i was wondering if i would need new pistonr rings or just a valve job please help

Leakdown test will confirm whether you're losing air through the rings or valves, but it sounds to me like you have a failed valve.

ok thanks man but is there a way to do a leak down test with the head off because i already took it off

I dont think so. Since you have it off, just go get if resufaced and new valves, locks, giudes and retainers.. Good luck.

Take it to a reputable machine shop. Have them give you an estimate of repairs and go from there. They will also be able to tell you what is the source of your problem. Have them repair it to their specifications.
