Do i need a camber kit, I'm lowering a 99 GSX and im using the Eibach pro-kit 1.3 in the front and 1.0 in the rear. and also at the same time i am putting on the tokico illuminas. i have heard that i do not need a camber kit because its not that much of a drop but let me know.

I think it's more of a judgement call on your part. Since our cars have no camber adjustability from the factory (front or back), you will add some positive camber to your car by lowering it, but I don't think ~1 inch of drop front and back will cause any drastic wear or handling problems. Ideally though, you would adjust your camber a bit negative on both the front and back. If price is a concern, you can at least DIY a rear camber kit with some longer bolts and fender washers. Here's a write-up found through VFAQ:

The more important issue will be toe, which will also be altered when you lower your car, and has a greater impact on tire wear than camber. Setting front toe is solved by adjusting the tie rod ends, rear toe by adjusting the rear lower control arm eccentric bolt (long bolt with a sun-dial-looking-cap-thing where the arm attaches to the frame). If you live anywhere in the Northeast where Winter salt is plentiful, you may have a tough time loosening that bolt to adjust. I had to saw off my bolts at the bushing and replace both arms and bolts (no more than $100 total, for both arms and eccentric bolts).

Wret has a great tech article outlining this: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=205503

Obviously, you'll need an alignment after lowering, but make sure you've at least checked to make sure rear toe isn't frozen up and can be adjusted, I didn't and ended up wasting a day at the alignment shop just to have the mechanic come back and tell me they couldn't budge my toe alignment bolt.

Backwards. Lowering adds negative camber. It is corrected by making it more positive.

Negative camber will be minor with that amount of lowering and is actually somewhat beneficial to handling. I would add a quarter inch or so of spacers in the back. Whatever you decide, do it before you go for an alignment because changing camber affects toe.

when i put on my pro-kits and agx's the front was fine but the back looks really riced out. Noticeable negetive camber so i am going to buy a correction kit. Too bad the 1g guys can't just add washers. :notgood:

I have a 2 inch drop on my talon. The negative camber is more noticeable in the rear but its not as bad as other vehicles i had with lowering springs that dropped the car less than 2 inches.
