My car is running very very rich, to the point where it wont really run, and it went through a half a tank, just idlin for 10 minutes. The problem started when i went to change my rear o2 sensor. It ran perfect before i touched this, but i always thought the rear o2 sensor didnt affect the air/fuel mixture, so im thinking its a different problem. I dont think i could of screwed the wireing up, (blue, white, and 2 black wires). I took the sensor totally off and the problem still happened. My a/f guage is on completely rich. I am gettin this wierd gargalling sound coming from the air filter, which im thinkin is the turbo, and the injectors seem to be hissing more than usual, but this can be bacause its barely running. I dont think i have any boost leaks. I have an eprom ecu, i am getting spark in all 4 cylinders, Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Josh.

the O2 sensors will read your air running through the system. If there is a huge vacuum leak then the O2 tries to compensate my opening the injector longer. Burning that much may be way too much though. Rear O2 compensate for Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT) when the front cant take it anymore.
the front looks for small changes and when they get too large then the rear O2 will push the entire fuel chart up a little so the front can play with its small range again.

Do you have any tune or any SAFC, etc.? more info on your profile ALWAYS helps

im pretty sure the rear o2 is there to monitor the 1st o2 and to also make sure that the catalytic converter is working properly... the problem you're having sounds like it may be a fpr or something along those lines, cause a car's ecu would never richin the fuel to the point that you would be wasting half a tank in 10 min at idle... thats ridiculous

Sorry about the profile, i hurried up and did it today, ill fix it.
I do not have a safc, or a fpr. I did order a fpr today. Where could this huge vacuum leek be, i mean, i drove it the day before, and it was perfect, the next day as soon as i started it, it was running like this? :(

I had the same proublem of burning huge amounts of fuel with the car in the driveway and it turned out to be my ecu. Have you ever inspected your ecu? They go without warning sometimes. I didnt smell any roten fish or clicling from the mpi relay. Just a thought...

He has a 2G, and at that, an eprom from a 95' those are a lot less likely than the 1Ga models, however, it wouldnt hurt to look., are you running a complety stock fuel system?
