Ok i just got done finishing swapping in a 4g63 from a 91 talon into my 92 laser which originally had a 1.8. everything went great until i went checking that all the electrical stuff worked. Needless to say some wierd stuff was happening. For example, my radio wouldnt shut off w/ the car, but my horn would make it turn off, and none of my gauges worked but the speedo (duh). also my blinkers dont work. i unplugged the cluster and everything else works now, but i would really like to have my gauges. i've heard of having to rewire the cluster, but i swapped dashes also just because mine was falling apart figuring the wiring connected to the dash would make it work. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well make sure everything is plugged in snuggly behind the cluster. They plugs can rattle loose or come out, and you won't have any functional gauges. Also, when you flip on your lights, do the gauges light up indicating power or anything?

ya, all the warning lights and stuff come on when i start it, the gauges just dont work. i did find some connectors that are unplugged under the dash by the radio. im not sure what they go to, but im hoping you guys now. heres a pic of the connectors (sorry bout the bad quality, its the best my palm can do)

im about 90% sure that those are the clips for the factory amp or equalizer or double din cd tape ... cause there were a lot of options back then.. and since the laser you had was a 1.8 it was the lowest model so it didn't have any of that stuff and your talon did
