crazy boost

I was testing out my new tbolt clamps to make sure I wasnt gonna blow this one pipe off that I constantly had trouble with, when I looked at my boost gauge I noticed it was bouncing back and fourth between 16 to 20. I didn't hear any boost leaks when I tested it,i did spray any soapy water around though but I;ve never noticed this before. Could this be a MBC problem? or something else?

What is your boost set at? I don't see any upgraded injectors so if I were you, I wouldn't boost past 15psi on pump gas.

My New Beetle gets lots of spikes but that thing is a VW (what do you expect...). got any pictures of any piping or anything? it would help. Search for boost creep/boost spike, you should be able to find something I would think.

You're running a 20g, and I assume an internal gate because nothing else is listed. You need to turn the boost down, and you need to get some sort of o2 housing and port that exhaust manifold. Get a high flow cat and catback. You're probably not flowing enough exhaust, and that's why you are seeing boost spikes & creeping.

yes its internally gated. I know I need to turn it down I have a tubular o2 housing and 3in down pipe that elimated my cat then its 2.5 inch to the back. I ported the part that connects to the turbo on my manifold if thats what you meant.
