this thing runns like crap with out boost and dam near dies when boost comes on
here is the odd part i can press the clutch and floor the pedal it revs to 4500 rpm and builds 15psi of boost, the car it running extreamly rich this is what I've doon so far
tryied 3 mass air flows, 2 spare ecm and a new one with dsmlink, full tune up also replaced the timing belt 3rd one in 20000 miles
with my friends dsmlink we can make it run better by cutting off knock pulling alot timing and leaning the injectors out. the car has stock pump and turbo and injectors
WISE MEN PLEASE HELP

I know this any idears on why I sure that has some thing to do with why the car runs so bad
like my top speed is 35-40mph in 1st 2nd or 3rd gear it takes over a mile to get up to 75mph on interstate

I had some issues like that on my last turbo car and it took a while to figure it out. It was a timing problem, I was one tooth off on my intake cam. The car would hit 14 psi at ilke 2200 rpm but just wouldnt go anywhere. It also backfired alot and smelled like it was flooding out. Building boost like that at idle sounds like severe retardation of the timing. Alot of cars use a similar method of timing retard to launch off the line at full boost.

Have you checked the oxygen sensor for problems? That might be the cause of your rich AFR, but honestly, it sounds like you're losing air somewhere between the MAS and the intake manifold (I know... you said no boost leaks).

(fwd91talon is my brother sorry for posting under his name)

thanks for the advice, I have rechecked the timing and it is set right It really sounds like a timing problem, is there any way the C.P.S. could be inaccurate? how about if the crank gear key sheared, has any on ever heared of this?
I retested for boost leaks, got mad and put 40psi to the system hoping to blow something out no luck. There was a really small leak around the thottle shaft seals about 22psi but I run 15psi so I don't think that is my problem.
:the rich problem
could I have a bad set of injectors I changed the injector resister pack hoping that would help but it did not
a bad fuel pump? (low pressure fuel not atominizing)I don't have a pressure gauge so I can't check this I do have a 255lph pump a FPR but I don't want to put the pump in a fwd car when my awd will be out of the fram shop in a couple weeks then I'm putting this motor in the awd
please keep the advice coming
Thanks, James

It sounds like you have a few different problems. Check your wastegate actuator and make sure it's functioning properly, you shouldn't be able to build boost with the clutch in, unless you have a chip or dsmlink with the stutterbox enabled. Do you have access to a datalogger? It also sounds like you might have a clogged catalytic converter. I would temporarily remove it and see if it helps.

well now i can't get the car to crank I do have a dsmlink but my cable is messed up waiting on a new one befor i could get the car to run better by telling it not to read knock(counts were really high) and retarding timing as far as i could it's been a couple weeks so i don't know how much
also i have a 3" downpipe and cat back w/testpipe (no cat to stop)

last time I drove it it overheated realy bad and now it wount crank

thanks for the help Guy's I let a buddy use my starter until payday after i put it back on the car run great I relay wish I know the problem was so I could help chriseclipse

ITS FIXED, i finally got in touch with my friend who owns a gsx and he told me to take to his friends shop. i took my car there and he said the stock boost controller was broken so he bypassed it and the cam angle sensor was set up wrong and readjusted it.
thanks,
chris

Hey i figured it out, it all started when i rewired the fuel pump. The prevous owner replaced the stock pump with a walbro 255hp. I didnt know this until i pulled the take to put in a 255 hp pump. So my problem was overflowing the stock fpr. I now have an aem Afpr and it ran great till i blew the head gasket. now i am parting out my car. TO EXPENCIVE!!!!!
