The driver side window in my 92 tsi hasnt worked very well for the past couple years. I had to pull it up when i wanted it to go up or it would move like 2 inches then freeze for about 15 sec. then i could get it up another 2 inches. I thought the motor was getting old or something. I pulled the door apart the other day like ive done a million times and pulled the window track of from the back of the window out. Ive done this before to put in some grease or something in the track to help it slide easier. The track looked like it got narrower in some spots and i couldnt figure it out, so I pulled the rubber part off of the track and found a ton of rust on the inside of the metal track. All the rust was pushing the rubber track up tight against the window and was making it get stuck. I cleaned all the rust out with my dremel and sprayed some stop rust spray junk in there and let it dry. Put the rubber track back in and then put the track back into the window, screwed it back in, and now my window works better than most new cars. I wish my digital camera would have been charged, I would have taken a few pics. I still need to do the passenger so maybe I'll try to take some to show what Im talking about to make it clearer since I can kind of ramble.
