OH, my god!!! I had a problem that blew my last engine. It wouldnt rev past 4k, and it overheated right away. It eventually blew my engine. I reinstalled a new "long block" now.
Put in some gauges, 190lph, AFPR, TT, and SAFC. Finished everything up. HAPPY AS CAN BE.

Now, I turn it on, idles fine, - but the left blinker is stuck on, and my right blinker wont work b/c my left one is already on. So I go to turn it off the car, to fix the blinker and the car wont turn off ( This was before the TT install!!). So i put in first gear, and kill it.
My fuses are fine, I did a boost leak, i heard some air- but it sounded like my tester was leaking ( afraid it was the turbo, still dont know?).
Anyway, at idle its all fine, then I rev it, - it goes to 2000 rpm studders, hesititates and then eventually it would rev to redline freely. So after all of this, I wanted to see if my car drove better than before.
When I drove it, it STILL WOUDN'T rev past 3.5k-4k, and I can only accelerate slowly- partial throttle, If I slam the gas, WOT in any gear at any RPM, it bogs, and doesnt accelerate at all. I have to let off, and then slowly push in throttle. When doing this, I noticed that my Speedometer wasn't working- OMG, WTF, EVERYTHING is going wrong- but its not over yet...
After driving it for about 1 MIN. - It already started to overheat again, instantly to the highest point on the stock temp. gauge.
So no power at WOT, bogging at 2k-2.5k then fast acceleration- to 3.5K rpm, and then NO POWER AT ALL!!!!!!- Overheats after a 1 minute period. Left blinker is stuck on, car wont turn off, Speedo doesnt work. - all before and after!!! a new engine swap, ( a long block).- What the hell could cause this freakin' issue?????

The car is not the one in my profile, it is a 95 TSI AWD, but it has a S16G, and 10psi, 2.5 turbo back ( has a exhaust leak)- no cat. Stock SMIC, greddy hard pipes, venom intake.
Please help me fast!, This is what blew my engine before, what could it be now!!!!!

If you could help me faster, or talk one-on-one
my email address is [email protected]
I live in Aurora CO, if your close and want to help me, please do!!!!
THANKS TO ALL THAT ATTEMPT TO ASSIST.

when the long block was installed, I had a new timing belt, water pump, BS belt. installed at the same time. I got it all done for $500- including the engine, I know the engine is good though, considering its out of my other car! I have no logger, and no tune.

timing seems off, when there lined up, its a straight line, mine are about 5 teeth on both sides, 10 teeth in between the two marks. But most of these problems were there before I swapped in the engine.

Could a o2 sensor cause this, cause its still the one from before the swap. And you said to "reset the ECU" how do I do that, and would it cause any problems??
Also, what can cause the SPEEDO to stop working, is there a fuse, if so, where?

To reset the ECU all you do is unplug the battery on one terminal (preferably negative) and it resets it. Depending on how old the oxygen sensor is I would go ahead and replace it. They are extremely cheap at www.sparkplugs.com compared to everywhere else. Go ahead and get the bosch one if you do. As far as I know, there is a plug that plugs into the transmission to the left of the shifter cables. Check if that is plugged in (I'm not 100% sure on that, but I think its a plug, maybe I'm confused with other cars).

Hope that helps you somewhat.

Are you sure its really overheating? With so many electrical problems at once, your temp gauge might not be correct. Check to see how hot it really is with another gauge. Also, what about the t-stat?

I already have a new o2 sensor, the overheating problem was there before I had any electrical issues, before any modification, and before teh engine swap, It blew my last engine due to overheating, so I tend to believe the gauge. I have a new thermostat.

If that is the way you reset it, then I have many times, I have even removed the ECU.
My gauges are working, but I think I blew something, but what bothers me is that I am having these problems before and after a new engine was installed!!

I cannot order anything, so I can not get a logger or palm or any setup such as that, b/c I cannot order. I have no credit card, and I dont know anybody, so It has to be a local Item.

I must ad that I have stock injectors, and stock fuel lines, and stock fuel filter. maybe the injectors and/ or teh fuel filter is clogged??

Well if teh car kept running after you turned off the key you either have an electrical problem or some nasty hot spots in teh combustion chamber causing the car to self sustain. Id say check over the wiring and all, and check the plugs and see if they tell you anything. Also, you said the cam timing was off 5 teeth either on both cams? Id reccomend redoing it then and getting it right on and also setting the ignition timing.

Do you have a bank account? Set up a bank account with a check/debit card, setup a account through Pay-Pall and use them for on line payment's.

I have a Visa card and still use pay-pall when possible. I've herd nothing but good things about their services. Its a relatively safe way to buy/sell through long distance classifieds.

You could buy that logger tomorrow night. Get it in the mail 3 to 10 days later, and be posting those number shortly after that!

Check the classifieds here first, If thats no good try dsmloggers.com for a new setup.

Actually as far as the overheating issue, my 2g thermostat was on its way out and i had the same symptom with the overheating. My 2g is a 97 so yours may be going bad too since you have 2 more years overtop of me. Also when you say your last motor 'blew' it seemed like your were emphasizing that it was due to overheating. When you or a shop broke it down what did it look like inside, was the motor locked up?
