so ive been having problems getting my car to start when its at operating temp, floods itself out. but when i pull the plugs, theyre bone dry. cant figure out what the problem is. ne how, today i went through the engine bay to find any thing outta place. i found that 2 wires were broke on the o2 sensor plug, so i fixed that. 1 vacuum line was disconnected on the intake mani, hooked that up. then i found this plug, cant find ne thing that it would go to or reach, but it has power to it via my test light. take a look at the vid and hopefully someone can tell me where this goes and why my engine surges like this. thanks, David.

please be patient as the vid loads-frickin quicktime.

That's really, really odd. I'd initially guess it was the MAS plug... on the turbo models, the only plugs in that particular area are the MAS, reverse light switch, and radiator fan power plug. And it didn't look like you have cruise control. Weird. Do you have a Haynes manual? With how your test light was reacting, it looks like it's carrying tach signal for some reason, whatever it is. Was the car originally a turbo?

i have a haynes manual, but doesnt go into detail on every connection/plug available. this car was a stock NT when i bought it, and all ive done to it is ebay intake, K&N, OBX 4-2-1 SS header with mid-pipe, cherry bomb in place of cat, 2.25 cat-back exhaust with Magnaflow muffler. i just recently did a balance shaft eliminator, T-belt, along with new valve seals and some minor head work. had problems getting it to run right, so i took it to my mechanic. found that #1 cylinder intake rocker was stuck, causing the intake valve to stay open. and that my CAS was 180* off. so now im having problems getting it to start after it warms up, but i think it has to do with a weak alternator. if i give it a jump or hook up a battery charger, it fires right up. i just happened to come across this plug, wondering if it had something to do with my problem, then when i tested it, the surging occured. this car is frustrating.

i believe i found what that plug goes to. there is a sensor that is on the aluminum line for the AC, which i dont have ne more. i tore the AC crap out when i rebuilt the motor. thanks for the help.

As for the charging system, Id take the battery in and check if thats the problem, it could be getting a good charge from teh alternator, just incapable of holding it. A way to tell if if you jump and and let it run for awhile, if such things as dome lights get dim after awhile and such, then your alternator is going out, but if it runs fine, all the lights are of average brightness then its your battery not holding a charge. Good luck

i also notice that when i turn on my headllights, the rpms drop to around 650-700, and then when my headlights and heater fan is on, sometimes it will stall.
