I know there are a lot of post concerning this topic but it doesn't pinpoint the same problem I am having.

My a/c was filled with antifreeze a couple of days ago and the tech says that it's not leaking. When I turn the a/c on, it will blow out cold air for a 30 secs and the the compressor will turn off. Once the compressor turns off the a/c button light will blick on and off. I know I am having electrical probs with it. Can anyone pinpoint it out for me.

Thanks.

First off, if you put antifreeze in your a/c system, that could be your main problem. A/C systems use Freon (R134), not antifreeze.

A/C systems are closed systems, meaning that what's in is in and what's out is out. If you have a leak somewhere then you've compromised your a/c system. The freon leaks out causing your compressor to shut off and the a/c not to cool properly. Also, if there is moisture in the system, it could also not cool. These sort of things can damage components of the system, like the dryer or the compressor.

Check for leaks in the system and make sure your condensor doesn't have a hole in it somwhere and please, please, please don't use antifreeze in your a/c.

Okay, I had a long weekend... And my mind isn't right. LOL. What I meant to say is freon.
And I promise I won't put anitfreeze in the a/c.

The a/c tech told me that i didn't have any leaks but I guess i'll have someone else take a look at it.

I'm going to replace the condensor to see if that is the problem.

Good Boy. I wouldn't go randomly replacing parts (they are expensive) till you can pinpoint the problem. Is the compressor kicking on and off at really short intervals? Can you be a little more specific please as to the compressor and cooling effects?

Specifics... I turn on the a/c, with the a/c button on, and it turns on (cold air blows out). Once it's on for 15 secs the a/c compressor turns off and the light on the cold a/c button starts to blink. It happens on every level (high, medium, and low).

Is that good?:thumb:

Also, i know this guy that is going to sell me a compressor for $40.00.

I don't think your compressor is bad. It's clicking on and off so it should be good.

You could have moisture in the system. Mine did the same thing after I replaced the condenser and it ended up being that the moisture basically blew up the dryer, so I had to replace that too. At least, that's my experience.

Yea, my a/c is querky.... like the compressor would act kind of normal but blow cold for like 30 sec and then only blow warm from there. I spent close to $1000 fixing the damn thing because I replaced the condensor since it had a hole in it to find out the dryer was busted as well so I had to get another one of those and an expansion valve.

:thumb: It sounds just like my problem... So, I will check the dryer first and then go from there. Thanks for all your help and patience... I don't even know where the dryer is located or what it looks like?? Do you have a link or a pic for our type of car? I have a 420A motor.

I don't have a clue either and I have a 4g63 engine anyway. I had a shop do my a/c work because I really don't know the first thing about them.

When You Say Antifreeze I Hope You Mean Coolant R-12 Or 134a If You Put Anti Freeze In It You May Need To Pull The Lines And Flush It Out Bassically I Would Convert It To 134a If Its Not Already Done. After You Flush It Run A Vacume To Take The Moisture Out Cause Moisture Is Bad For The Compresor.
If Its Electrical Check The High Pressure Cut Of Switch Located On The High Pressure Side Of The A/c System

he has already clarified that he put freon and not antifreeze.... and whats with your capital letters at the beginning of every word
