Oil Leak!

So i went to NY and bought this 90 Gsx, (the multi colored one that was in the classifieds) the guy told me the leak was minimal...i know i shodnt have driven it in the condition it was....but oh well...so anyways by the time i got back to Va (7quarts later) i had oil allllllll over the are licence plate the whole rear end i mean evvverrryyytthhinnggg, and so a couple dsm guys around here....im a complete newbie (had a couple 3000gts if they count for nething), the guys said it looks like an oil pan gasket, got the gasket, jacked the car up, and what do i do from here , the oil pan looks like a B**** to get out....all help is much appreciated...LOVE this D*** CAR Already...

First thing I would do is make sure its the oil pan that is leaking. Find your leak before you try to fix it. Jack up the car or better yet, put it on a hoist and clean up all the oil. Then run the car for a while and look for the source of the oil leak.

First of all the fact that you could buy a 90 GSX & drive it from NY to VA is nothing short of STUNNING - Most "freshly purchased" old DSM's wouldn't make it across town ~! That's the good news - The bad news is that according to what "maintenance" has been done to this car the vast majority of old DSM's need all new Seals across the entire Front Case - & an Oil Pan "Gasket" (Gray RTV) - But this car has great potential just by the very fact it made that Trip alone ~!

So how much$$ ?

Man i got that car for 1100, it has 3 inch back exhaust, tial wastegate, 550cc injectors, pistons, rods, 2g ported manifold, ummm, walpro 255 fuel pump, i plugs wires....i got a good ass deal honestly, well the story is....i have a suspened lisence from some 3000gt racing and after a while i was like F it and never even went to get the lisence ....so i make it up to Ny threw queens, manhattan, GOT LOST IN ALL THE GHETTOS DC BALTIMORE NY....it was literally hell.....thennn get this shit....the son of bi*** broke down and in queens at 4 am i was like WTFFFFFFFF....it was like dead as a brick, and my boy jeff in a 240sx was ahead of me becuz he had the directions so he didnt even know, then like 30 mins later he ran up the block, i was like man get me the F outta here( apparently the hood was grounding out the battery terminal) .......sooo then we bust ass all the way back, man we left at 8:30pm in va, and got back NON STOP (lost couple times) but nonstop we didnt get back till atleast 10:30am....i was tired as SH**....man and then i get off the highway im like a mile from my house and,,,get this...a trooper pulls me over and gets me for , suspended license, invalid registration ( i threw the tags from my old beamer on it) not smart, and some insurance shit....then he sad we had to get it towed....so i just waited till dark and threw some more plates on it,the cop took the beamer plates....i went threw hell for that car it better be worth every penny ....

Man the whole entire underside has oil on it, like honestly everything, how would i clean all that, a hose? rags?

sounds like quite a cluster####. it's probably just the oil return line leaking. that shit gets everywhere.

I just checked the return line, its not coming from there, it has to be above the left front axle, because thats where shes dripping onto, its either the top of the oil pan or i dont know? head gasket? valve cover gasket? any other possibilitys this is driving me krazy...thanks
