I figured i ask for some help here before we bring this thing to a shop.
The problem is the car runs horrible, when idleing it stumbles and wants to die. If you feather the gas, it will stay running, but runs like its misfireing. Alot of black smoke out the exhaust, seems like its getting to much fuel (can smell it) in our shop your eyes are burning minutes after starting it. The car is barely driveable.. if at all. It sounds as if its not timed right. Although its not misfireing.
So far we have checked and verified all are good:
compression-good
Timeing-good
Cam sensor-good
Vac leaks-no
Intake pipeing- good
plugs- carbon foweld, although we put new ones in, (dint help) and now there foweled
Air sensor-good
FPR-good, installed a new one.
Plug wires-good, new
Injectors-good
It doesnt have the conditions of crankwalk...
Before all this, it ran normal, just intalled a front mount IC a month or 2 before hand, and was boosting around 15-18psi... May have had a few spikes here and there.. because the wastegate hose blew.
The only mods on it are
Boost controller
16g turbo
and a front mount IC.
the CEL never came on, untill we checked behind the dash to find out the, previous owner took out the bulb.
We put a new one in and sure enough it lights up..
We rented a scanner and plug it in and nothing.. the scanner wont even work. We tried the scanner on a different car and it worked. So obviously its the car.
The wireing under the dash also seems to be a hack job.. the funny thing is there was nothing aftermarket in the car when he got it. Also many of the harness's in the engine bay dont have any protective tubeing or even tape on them.. many things like the interior light, sunroof, visor buttons, and review mirror never worked upon purchasing the car.
Specs 97 GSX MTX, with only 70k miles.
