Ok I installed a battery hold down kit with 2 metal bars that hook underneath the battery tray, then are held on the top by a rubber thing. It works fine, but today I was driving, and my amp's power wire which had a fuse on it came loose and the fuse's metal contacts touched one of the metal supports for the hold down. The car turned off on me in the left lane of a 65mph zone, i was around 70 mph. I safely made it across while the car was rolling, with no headlights in the dark. When I opened the hood, and realized what happened, I just took off the power cable from the terminal and the ecu kept ticking, but the car had no power for at least 2-3 minutes. After I had called a towtruck, but before he arrived, the power came back, the ecu stopped ticking, and the car started fine. I drove around on it, and I noticed no problems. Am I in the clear or is there something that I should check?

If something was wrecked you would still be experiencing problems. I dont really understand why there was a delay for not having power but if everything seems fine you are probably ok. I guess you could check your fuses and make sure none of them are blown but again if something was blown you would be having a problem.

I was thinking more along the lines of the ecu blowing a cap ot something and leaking onto other parts and causeing more damage. (someone told me that they can leak)

I have never really heard of 2g ECUs leaking, I know it is a known problem with 1Gs but you drive an N/T too so it may be different.

I guess you could always pull your ECU and look.
