stafford,
Hi,

My problem is with my "new" car that I have, and not with my dsm. You guys have been a aweseome help to me before, so I thought it might be ok to try here first, too. Sorry for following newb questions.

I just bought a 1991 Toyota Corolla and I have just a couple of prob's. One problem is that with even the smallest amount of pressure on the clutch, the car grones a tad. It gets pregressively louder as I acc. and stops at a steady whine while I'm driving. I figure it's the clutch master cylinder and was curious as to the "audible" failure sign's of it's failure (... if any... ). With no pressure, even while driving, the sound dissapears.

Also, I have a clicking noise when I turn left, or right. My cv joint's, right?

And if so, could my cv joints also attribute to the problem when I shift. After a shift from first to second, and sometimes second to third, a "clunk" ensuses. I was thinking either my clutch and its sloppy engagement, or my cv joints being bad.

Any idea's or help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks a'bunch,

Marty:cool:

If it only makes noise with the clutch pedal depressed, it sounds like a throw out/release bearing. The good news is you can drive with it making noise for a bit IF it still releases and engages the clutch. The bad news is you have to pull the tranny to change it.

Also, don't let your dsm see you working on another car!!!!! It will get mad, and find a way to make you regret your infidelity:D

The first thing that came to mind for me was the throwout bearing too, and yeah the clicking is probably the axles.

The bad thing about the throwaout bearing is that you will probably have to replace the pressure plate too. With the bad throwout bearing it is probably wearing on the fingers of the pressure plate.
