Yep, you can I know a guy who has it done, he recommended that I do it. I plan to here in a week or so. I just got my car back running so I'm having fun not working on it any.

It takes quite a bit of force from what I hear to get them in though, so a C clamp is a must:thumb:

i've heard the problem with skateboard bearings is that you have to weld them together and that leaves a possibility that they will break. i didn't mind spending the 30 bucks on solid brass bushings, and I've had no problem with them ever since

Skateboard/rollerblade bearings work just fine, there is no welding that needs to be done. I would make sure you have a good sanding wheel for your dremel though. You will have to open the hole in the end of the shift cables just a tad bit.
