N/A 97 Talon
Lowered with KYB AGX Shocks, and H&R springs.

I recently replaced both CV Axles, and got an alignment. A few weeks later, My car has been Vibrating/shuddering during acceleration only. This seems to happen in the first 3 gears, up to about 45+mph. I have no camber kits, or anything. I've rotated the wheels, and hear virtually no noise which could indicate worn wheel bearings. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what this could be?

I also have toe problems, the outter edge of the front wheels is worn quite a bit more than the rest, who could i fix this as well?

Sometimes, but not always this smacks of bad inner cv joints. New or not they can be bad. New stands for " Never Ever Worked. Before.

Check them out first and let us know.

Thanks for the response. I will be checking them in the coming days. I also have a leak, seems like tranny fluid, i took a look at i suspect it's coming from the joint where the cv axel goes into the trans(passenger side). Not sure what the mechanism that holds it is called, or how much/how hard it is to replace. Any idea?

I have a 97 gst at and it has been doing the exact thing you're describing. I've already swapped the driveshafts once. What else could this be?

Dynamic Wheel Imbalance.

Wheel and tire assemblies are balanced for one reason, to eliminate vibrations that can cause discomfort to the driver and in severe cases tire wear. Tires are usually balanced two ways; static and dynamically.

Static wheel balance is used to correct for a wheel that is out of balance in it's radial axis. imagine a clump of mud on the inside of one small part of your rim. As the rim spins there will be a heavy side. This will cause a progressive vibration. As speed gets greater so will the frequency of the vibration, proportional to vehicle speed. As your car goes faster the vibration gets faster. This will happen at all speeds progressively getting worse the faster you go.

Dynamic imbalance is used to correct for lateral out of balance. Imagine the center line of your tire when sitting in the driver seat of you car. Each side must be balanced equally from side to side. An unequal amount of weight on either side of the tire will cause dynamic out of balance. This problem however is not progressive like static imbalance. You my feel it between 45-55 mph. You may feel it until you reach 30 mph. There is no deciding factor for when it happens, however it will almost always occur consistently under the same conditions.

Imagine if you had both a static and dynamic imbalance. Your wheel would probably feel like it's going to come off the car. This may be your problem. I would check to see if possibly you have a bent rim or a tire out of balance.

Remember, tires aren't the only thing that could cause an imbalance. A hub that is bent, warped rotor, bent rim mounting flange, improperly torqued wheel lug nuts, or bad wheel bearing could also contribute to wheel imbalance. If you have a dial indicator you could check the run out of your hub and rotor assembly. That's where I would start.

Good luck...

You need a chamber kit. Most shops will get it as close as they can and not tell you it is still not right. I had this problem on my old car it also lead to fast wear on my axles, wheel bearings, and ball joints.
