I lent my friend my car yesterday and then he gave it back after about 3 hours of driving it. I drove it home was fine. I drove it to work it was fine. I go to lunch this afternoon and my clutch pedal felt funny. Got off work and I noticed it again. It seems to stick to the floor... and engages really quickly. After letting off the pedal, it takes a bit but it goes back to the standard position. I drove t on the highway home and was doing quite well in terms of DSM well. When I exited the highway, I had the clutch to the floor to slow down. When I did that my engine jumped to 3k rpm and then reved down to about 1,800. I came to a stop sign and stopped. Tried to shift into 1st gear and it locked me out. Went to second, same thing. Got it in 3rd and then it popped out. I was sitting at the stop sign locked out of all my gears. Put it in neutral and let the clutch come out. I pried it out with my foot and tried again. Still locked out. By this time good 10 cars were behind me. I put on my emergency flashers, put it in neutral, got out, gave it a push to get going, and then pushed from the driver side while steering out of the way of the other people. After it cleared, turned the car back on and I was able to get in gear. Still stuck to the floor though. Drove it 2 miles to my house and parked it.

I have no clue why its doing this. Clutch out of adjustment? Any help would be appreciated.

First thing to check is the fluid level. If it's low start at the slave cylinder in the front of the tranny, pull the boot back and check for leaks. Second, look by the pedal under the dash for signs of a leak, you might have to pull some of the carpet back. 3rd, follow the line from the resivour (?sp) to the slave and check for leaks.

I agree, most likely slave cylinder or master cylinder or both are leaking. The same exact thing you're describing happened to me a few days ago, and I just got done putting in the slave cylinder, and I'm working on the master cylinder today.

Thanks again. Been a great help.

Will have to look for my manual, so I can figure out what things are under my car. Gonna replace both cylinders eventually. Just need it road worthy. Gonna bleed it for the time being. Got the weekend to figure things out. :thumb:

Turns out, the Slave Cylinder was blown. Took it off and it just fell appart. I bought a new one from Rock Auto for $22 total. Put it in and it leaked. The pipe from the rubber hose to the Slave Cylinder was bent and kinked like crazy. I went to Advance Auto and picked up a 20" brake piping but it was too long. I could've just bent it to fit but I decided not to since I didn't have any pipe bending tools at my house. Rather not risk kinking the pipe and have it leak everywhere again. Went out and purchased 2 compression fittings that screwed into a 90 degree elbow. Cut the 20" pipes to size. Took 2 pipes since I screwed up once. Put it all together and started bleeding the clutch. The elbow leaked slightly though. Took the elbow appart and used tephlon tape on to thread the compression fittings in. Bam. Leak gone. Finished bleeding the clutch the right way. Took her out for a test spin. Gave her a little run since I didn't drive her for 5 days .

I need to adjust my clutch pedal now. It has about 1-2" of play before I feel the way it used to feel. I think I'm going to need a new clutch but don't know when I can do that. If I do, upgrade time .

Thanks for all your help. :thumb:
