2g Wiring/Light Problem

Hey guys...so my 97 GsT is parked behind my house for the winter...i stripped the interior completely out and did some checking around. I had a volt measurer as well to make sure wires were working because my ashtray light was not working. I grounded it to the metal next to the clutch area and checked...all lights worked but when i DOUBLE CHECKED...f'ing thing started fuming. And last night i go to check the car, and my lights for the speedometer and etc. were not working with my lights! WTF WTF?

Has this ever happened to anyone? and if not then what should I do? Its not the fuse...So do i start rewiring the crap from scratch??? F'ing DsM with their cheap ass wiring works!!!

Did your license plate light, taillights, glove box, marker lights also go out? If so your 15A "taillamp" fuse in engine fusebox is blown. Otherwise check your rheostat (dask light dimmer).
