Well last night I went out to drive the car down the driveway to get the mail and it wouldn't start. I figured a light maybe got left on and the battery went dead, so overnight I charged my jumpstarter, then in the morning I tried it, but to no avail. Everything works in the car except for the radio. When I try to start the car nothing happens, not a click or anything. I looked for coroded wires and didnt see any. What could this be?

Have you checked all of your fuses? Be sure to look at the fusible links at the positive battery terminal and in the fuse box under the hood.

The ones that I haven't checked are the ones that come right off of the battery, but I have no idea how to check those ones, do I use a voltage tester?

Take both the negative and positive wires off the battery. clean it all, weather you see corrosion or not if you don't have the spray that you get at any auto store use water and baking soda. Tighten them all up nicely and try and start the car and get back to us.

Just pull them out and shine a flashlight in the clear top. You should be able to tell if the metal band is blown into pieces, just like a normal fuse.

EVERYONE!!!! Buy a test light or multimeter. It's a thing you really need to get for your tool kit. Just like a torque wrench or socket set. We all know the weakest link on these "old' cars is the electrical systems.

If you do some real voltage tests and post, we'll help you figure it out. Check at the starter main post and when you are trying to crank, have someone check the little starter post. If you have power on both while cranking, it's most likely the starter. If no power on big post, it's a cable. Power on big but none on little, it's likely a fuse, relay, clutch swithch etc.

Do some tests and let us know.

Good Luck
