Well this is more of a handling tech question but because I'm more of a reader than a poster I guess I'm not allowed to post in the tech sections just yet.

My question is this. Will the N/T Eibach Sportlines fit my Spyder GST?

I ask only because the Eibach website is very confusing if you look at how they have it set up in terms of what fits and what doesn't. Basically I just went and bought an EBC from a guy down the street who is converting back to stock and he has a NT 420a 2Ga with Eibach Sportlines. I'd like to buy them from him as well but want to be certain that they fit correctly. I know the rebound and spring rate will be different from what Eibach had intentionally designed them but I'm not concerned wiht that. I guess what I need to know is if the front struts and rear shock assembly have the same design? TIA! :)

WOW, its hard to say. I looked at their website and compared part numbers, and according to the Eibach website, they don't make ANY suspension for the GS-T Spyder. But they also say the GS Spyder and GSX use the same springs too, which I don't think is true. I don't know what to tell you guy. But heres my input.

MITSUBISHI, Eclipse Spyder GS, 2WD - 1996
(Exc. AWD & Spyder GS-T)
Part Number 6015.140

MITSUBISHI, Eclipse, 2WD - 1998
(Incl. GS, GS-T, RS & Turbo; Exc. Spyder GS-T)
Part Number 6014.140

MITSUBISHI, Eclipse Spyder GS, 2WD - 1998
(Exc. AWD & Spyder GS-T)
Part Number 6015.140

MITSUBISHI, Eclipse GSX, AWD - 1998
(Exc. Spyder GS-T)
Part Number 6015.140

I would bet money that the Spyder GS and Spyder GS-T accept the same springs.

Hey Sean, thanks for the shout. Now you see my delema on this... Eibach needs to make their site a bit more user friendly. Something on those numbers just doesn't seem right... thanks for looking into it though!

I agree completely. I'm willing to bet that the rebound is different when mounted on both trim levels and that's why they say "excluding GS-T". I guess at this point it is trial and error for me. I'll just grab the springs and see if they mount properly. If they don't I'll just sell them. He's giving me a good deal so I guess all I'll loose is install time. Unless of course someone else can post with information on this topic...

Don't say that unless you are 100% sure, the guy might waste his money.

If all he'll loose is install time, then there's no harm done. I'm sure someone knows definitively though. Give it some time and they'll post.

Alright, I did some searching for you. I found this in another thread...

GST and GST Spyder parts are interchangeable. I know this because I too always was concerned about specifically ordering parts labeled "GST Spyder". Then I realized as far as drivetrain, exhaust, suspension, etc. goes, it's the same. Like if you're ordering lowering springs/shocks for a GST spyder, just get them for a GST.

Yeah, I'm going to call Eibach in the morning... thanks Sean! :)

That definately helps things a bunch. I'm just going to call Eibach in the am though and check to see. The car they are coming of off is a N/T. I think i remember reading that the mounting design was all the same, only the spring rate changes because of the different curb weight for each trim model... I guess we'll see once I give them a shout... thanks Paul and Sean for your help! :)
