I have a problem with my car that I cannot figure out and here is a little a history of my problem.

I have just recently finsihed getting my engine together and firing it up. It ran great for about thirty minutes while I was getting it up to temp and topping off the coolant. No leaks (in the engine atleast):thumb:. Well the first problem happened when I tried to drive the car around the block, the clip that holds the release bearing to the fork broke and I had to take out the tranny to fix it. Get that problem and I am ready to take my first drive in the car in over two years:thumb:, and my injectors are leaking. I had my old 450s and the 14b on the car for the break in. One of the injectors had a crack at it's base and this was the cause of the leak. No big deal right because I have a set of 750s laying around. Wrong! I put them in and go to the shed to get the instructions for tuning the MAFT vers. 1.3 and I apprantly had a leak because the instructions were no longer legible. I tried for about a month to get another copy of those instructions but I could not find them anywhere.

Well last week I finally broke down and purchased a new MAF and translator from Slowboy put it on the car and now for the problem.

Everything is installed per the instructions and fuel pressure is set at 43 lbs. The car will crank and run for approximately 30 seconds and then shut off. If I put the other translator on there and go back to the 3" maf it runs but it is lean as hell(strange I know but hey it is a DSM) My logger is not showing any codes so I am completely baffled as what to do. Please help!

Well, try running a combination of both translators and MAF's. That should help narrow down your problem somewhat. Then post back with what you get.

Ok here is an update on my situation. I have tried a combination with both MAFTs using both MAFs, and I am still having the same problem. With the new translator on the car it will only run for 30 seconds and then shut down. Since this is a fresh motor I will not continue to fire it up when it only runs for a few seconds or lean as hell. I do not want to risk damaging this engine and I fear that I may if I keep attempting to diagnose this problem by starting the car.

I think the problem is in the translator but I am not sure, has anybody had a similar problem with their units? Also does anybody know if the adjustments for injector size are the same on both versions of the translator? If they are I will use my old translator until I can get the problem straightened out with the new one.

Again thanks for any help that may be provided.
