p0300 bogging question

OK so I have had this problem before and I have replaced both coil pack about 3 months ago. My talon has been great ever since, no bogging or anything and then today bam out of nowhere it starts again. Could it be something else other than the coils?

Could be the plug wires. If there is current arcing out of them to something metal close by you could get the random misfire code.

Accel is a questionable brand to begin with, I would pick up some Magnecores if I were you.

Ps I get random misfire codes all summer long due to the 272 cams .....are you sure the random misfire is causing the bogging or is it a result of the bogging?

So, I got new wire and now neither set of wires even start the car?!?! WTF

Sounds like you have more than a random misfire problem. Make sure all plug wires are on the right plugs, pull the plugs see if they are wet. Crank it over and see if you have spark off the plugs .....then we'll go from there.

I have had this problem before and it ended up being an injector resistor went out in #3 cylinder. p0300 is a random misfire code. p0301 would be cylinder 1. p0302 would be cylinder 2 and so on so I would say it is something ignition related. Start by making sure your firing order is correct. Then like StayTuned said pull the wires off the plugs one by one and see if they are sparking out the end. If they are then you have narrowed it to a fuel problem of sorts. When was the last time your fuel filter was replaced. Might want to make sure it isn't getting really clogged and killing your fuel pressure. Also a dying fuel pump will cause this.

Ok so I finally took it in and there is no spark. I am getting new packs and see what that does...

Also replace the transitor, this may be causing to much power to go through the coil packs and blowing them out.

Ok, so I got the car back today and the new coil packs crapped out. He checked everything else and said it was all good so I guess it was just bad packs...
