will a 2g n/t eclipse fuel pump work with a 1g eclipse gsx? im asking because i need a new sending unit and all, havent had much luck finding one, all the local junkyards dont have anything either except a 95-96 eclipse, the top of the fuel pump looks different but seems to be close to my gsx....so my question is Can i make it work for temporally or at all?

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't think so right off the top of my head, 2g AND NT? Aftermarket FP's are different for 1g's and 2g's for a reason. Why not just get a Walbro 190? $85 is a pretty good deal for something as critical as fuel delivery. Plus a junkyard one may not even work properly. :nono: I wouldn't do it even if it would work.

well its not actually the pump im needing its the sending unit. the part that bolts down to the gas tank, that whole unit. Thats what im asking sorry i didnt clarify it right. i know if it will bolt on and work then i can change out the pump.

The 1G AWD fuel pump assembly is specific to the car.
The FWD versions are different and not interchangable.
The 2G parts aren't going to work either.

I had to order a replacement from a California junk yard to get a clean unrusted one.

The fuel pump brackets (sending unit, tank floater and all) can be hard to locate. I got lucky and found one locally, but I have seen them on Ebay a couple of times. As Steve said, you have to get a 1g AWD one. :|
You can have my old one if you want, but I don't think you'd want it, it's pretty bad (hence why I had to find a replacement, LOL).

The few that I've seen on Ebay ran like $40 or so. I located one at a junkyard in Arizona somewhere that included a stock fuel pump for like $55-60 IIRC. I can try to locate the number for you if you want. This was a few months ago, though.

Edit: forgot to mention...Don't even bother calling the dealerhip. I believe they wanted over $400 for this part.

yeah i called the dealer local and they want $532!!! if anyone can help me locate this part it would be MUCH help, i knew they were different from awd to fwd thats why i asked about the 2g because it mounts on top of the tank as well, so i was going to try it if it would work LOL.
ps: steve did you get my pm ?

You know, I think your best bet would be to find someone here on the Classifieds who is parting out their car. That's how I found mine -- guy on a local DSM board was parting out, and I grabbed the pump bracket along with lots of other misc. crap. :thumb:
