I have had my GST for about 6 months and have loved every second of it. Today though when I was coming home from school my rubber clutch pedal slid off the clutch assembly. When I got home I noticed that some fluid was leaking around the piston that goes in whenever you push the clutch pedal in. There is a small fluid stain on my carpet and it has ran down beside the dead pedal as well. Is my problem the clutch master cylinder or something else. My CEL also came on today and was wondering if this would have an effect on it (I think my O2 sensor is the problem though). Thanks for any help.

Yes the clutch master is trash. You should also do the slave as if one is out, the second is not far behind.

But just to double check, look around the clutch fluid container and master cylinder area to be sure something else is not leaking before you just start ripping things out. However, the master is generally the cause of the fluid stains you mentioned.

I don't recall there being a low level sensor on the clutch fluid container similar to the one on the brake fluid container. Someone else would have to chime in on that one.

FORMONTOYA is so right.

This same exact thing just happened to me the weekend before last.
Once you get everything replaced, follow this procedure for bleeding the clutch. <a href = http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213503> Bleed the Clutch</a>
Before I knew about this method, my wife and I spent almost 2 hours bleeding my clutch.
I went thru almost 2 pints of fluid trying to get the air out.
I used the method mentioned above, and I had the clutch bled in less than 15 minutes.

Oh, and since you'll be replacing the Master, do like FORMONTOYA said, and replace the slave cylinder as well.
Get this in there too.... <a href = http://www.roadraceengineering.com/instructions/2gclutchlineinstructions.htm> SST Clutch Line Install</a> you'll be so glad you did. :thumb:

That is what I figured. Any idea about how much this will cost? Also could this have an effect on my CEL. I am pretty sure it is something electrical because when I turn the accesories on the CEL stays on without the engine cranked.

I'd say no more than $120 with both parts and 2 pints of brake fluid.
As for the CEL, usually Autozone's allow customers the use of the OBDII code scanners so once you pull the code, you can buy their parts to fix it.
If you can do that, that would be your best bet.
Just write down everything the scanner tells you so if it's not too obvious, we can help you decifer the description, plus there is an entire OBDII list of codes right here..... <a href = http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91197>OBDII Codes</a>
