Swaping a 90GSX awd motor to 91laser fwd...

What do i have to do for this engine swap?
I know about swaping the tranny flywheel clutch.
But I notice that the wireing and vaccum lines are different.
And heard you have to run some new wires or do a ecu swap...
What do i need to do to get to run?...

Thanks for all the imput.. I really need to do another DSM project...

You will need a 91+ cam angle sensor, coil, and correct me if I'm wrong module. Difference between ECU's are the tach signal. Some other things that are different are throttle bodies. Motors themselves are the same. It's the bolt ons that you'll need to swap. It's pretty straight forward and easy to address upon performing the swap.

I know the fuel rails are also difrent, if you try to put the 91+ throttel body on with the 90 fuel rail it will hit the TPS and break it.

Later,
James

dont forget about the ever so forgetable motor mounts. the fwd motor mounts are 1/2 inch longer then awd in the back.....

What bolt ons to be exzact?

You will also need to change wire on the ecu if you use the 90 ecu v faq has the pinouts for that. You will need to change the power module next the cam gears. The 91 plug for the module plugs in and the 90 module has a wire clamp to hold it on.

What pin outs are you talking about on the ecu?..

Only doing a motor Swap, cause some bio-cth t-boned the front end of the 90GSX and smashed the side fender right into the motor breaking the alt. and smashing into the pulleys... Breaking the whole driver side axle/shock/spring, just messed it up...
Engine is fine just minor bruise, timeing belt still good and in-line,(I know We just replaced it) plus engine still turns..
So Got a FWD perfect body just sitting but it is a 91laser..
What do I do? Help please...

OK looking at all the vacuum lines and all the bolt on's-- it looks like the motor would drop right in and hook up correctly.

1--So if I change all the wired hook up's/bolt on's/ ect. You figured it would run with the same 91 ecu in it??.....

2--Will the motor notice the differance with the new crap on it.??

3---And also how hard is it really to change out the cams...????
Thanks for the imput all of you...

OK engine is in and it runs.
But I'm not getting compression in #2, What the F...
It runs for a min. then goes into convulsions,
Any info please.....!!!!!!!!!!
