I have a 1990 eclipse gsx. For mods it has a jdm 6 bolt cyclone engine act pressure plate and clutch. This is what happened over the past summer i crashed my first eclipse which was a 92 gst. So i bought this awd body that i have now and at the time i just took my cyclone engine fwd trans and put it in my awd body until one day the trans blew and then my car just sat for a while. I just got a awd trans for it and got it running a few days ago. When i first started it it idled fine but when i go to take off with it it starts breaking up really bad and back fires a little bit. but the thing that gets me is that it doesnt do it in reverse at all or in neutral. Also after i try driving it and i let it idle the idle goes really low and up a bit and most of the time is stalls. One more thing my clutch slips because when i was putting the trans in i pinched the lower radiator hose and the clutch got antifreeze on it. any1 got a idea ?
thanks

Anti-freeze on the disc shouldn't cause that type of problem. Either the clutch needs to be adjusted, bad syncros or bad shift cables. There are tech articles to cover each of those conditions. Good luck.

A smell test works fine. Just make sure that you unplug all of the ECU harnesses. Also look for burned capacitors. If you whiff rotten eggs, it'll need to be sent in and worked on.
