1st off, today the alarm would go off for no reason. id lock it and go upstairs and hear my alarm going off. unlock and lock the car back and it'd go back off in like 4 seconds for no reason. it eventually stopped. then i was driving tonight and the car was fine. i got out went inside the supermarket and came back out in like 2 min. i went to start the car and all power goes off! the interior cabin light went off, no car starting, nothing!!! kinda like there was a dead/no battery in the car. i get out pop the hood and disconnect the battery terminal and hook it back (didnt wait or anything) everything is back and car starts. i go to drive off and idle is at like 500 barely staying alive!!! i pull over up the street and turn off the car and start it back. stop at another store come back to the car and start it. on the drive back home everything is ok....whats the deal with that? im scared to drive LOL:cry:

I know that my cars alarm went off so many time for awhile I just cut the power to the horn and installed a switch. No more HONK HONK HONK HONK out of nowhere LOL as for the idle I know you car will have spiratic idle after the battery disconnection till the car learns the trims again. Also for the non starting I think that because of how you had the positive cable hooked up but snug everything for sure and lookin into one of the security sensors on the trunk or the hatch That will make the car act up ( alarm and flashing lights wise ) good luck.

I hate alarms. I have had to remove more than I care to count. From going off in the middle of the night to not letting the owner start their car to you name it. My biggest gripe is there's never any paperwork with them. Most likely the processor in the alarm is suspect in my book. I've seen some pretty ratty jobs with wires stuck everywhere with no concern for rubbing/chafing etc. If it's factory, you can get a cd or factory service manual and at least try to diagnose it.

Good Luck

You can pretty much see your optins are crap and more crap. If it annoys you beyond belief ( as it did me ) and you find theres nothing you can do about it then throw the horn and lights on a simple on off switch, but keep the stock controls.

So In theory you will get out and turn the 2 off and it wont allow power to them and when they are flipped on then now you can opperate them normally as you would when your driving. So really all the switches will do is cut complete power to the components when the car is off and allow YOU to control the electrical current when you have the switch flipped up and the car running.

GoodLuck

I hate my alarm, too. I'm sure the 2g FSM does a better job of explaining factory alarm setup, but my 1990 FSM has a whopping One Page that only discusses how to arm and disarm the alarm (i.e. turn the key in the ignition to disarm the alarm, lock the doors to arm it :notgood: ). I do, however, enjoy their little illustration of a would-be "thief" trying to steal the car, only having the alarm go off and spoil his victory. Haha.

Which even deepens my dislike for alarms. You know, I've got a 90 fsm and never have even looked at the alarm section.

Now I know why.

yeah, you have pretty much seen the whole "alarm section" right there ^^^^. The only other thing it says is that "Some 1990 AWDs Came Equipped With Factory Alarms!!!" Haha. Mine is acting insane, going off all the time, and I can't even find any sort of main wiring or control box to disconnect. Thanks Chrysler!!!! :notgood: Haha

Mine goes off all the time. I've diagnosed it down to a faulty door sensor. My interior lights don't always turn on when I open the door and it's because of that. I'm just looking for a new one to replace it.
