Hi, I currently am running a 2.5" straight pipe in place of my current cat. However, I need to now get my car through inspection. So my question is, how much performance loss is suffered with a high-flow cat vs. straight pipe?

A few people might disagree, but I'd say, unless it's on a very high horsepower car, very little. Get a nice high flow cat, pass inspection, and don't nasty up everyone's air while you drive. It's not worth a couple ponies. :thumb:

I very much agree with this. Good job :thumb:

I have run a straight pipe, and am planning a Buschur high flow cat on my GSX. All a straight pipe does (in my experience) is free up a couple horsepower and, more importantly, smell like crap. All this is really good for is attracting cops and getting environmentalists up your case.

Unless you are putting out a very large amount of power, or drive mostly on the track, I would say go with a good high flow cat and be done with it.

Ok, thanks for the feedback guys, I'm going to look up some high-flow cats now, :thumb:
