I have recently done a major overhaul to my 91 GSX. Included was a timing belt change along with all associated parts: tensioners, balance belt, water pump, motor mounts as well as plugs, oil, filter, P&P 14B, P&P O2 housing and an EVO GT exhaust manifold.
After installing that I adjusted the timing to 5 degrees advance and the car ran great. The idle is a bit irradic but the motor pulls very strong and hits and holds 12PSI just fine. What is happening now is the coolant light is on all the time. I thought an easy fix may be a new thermostat, so I put in a new one, 160*. The engine now runs at a lower temperature but the light is still on.
Any suggestions? Could the temperature sensor(s) need replacement?
