Need help finding a new starter that fits my car

I think the starter in my car is broke. Nothing happens when turning the switch (no sounds), except the fuse "explodes".

I don't know much about cars, but someone with a little better knowledge than me says it must be the starter, since he tested cables etc.

But the big problem is to find a new starter that fits my car - a 1998 Eclipse GS w/automatic trans.

Does anyone know exactly what model/serial the part has? The sticker on it is unreadable.

Before you go getting another started, make sure you check your ground. The same thing happened to my car and when i'd turn the key, it would just click and the fuse would pop. Turned out the ground that plugs into the starter itself was all corroded. But, if it turns out that it IS the starter, just call your local salvage yard and they'll get you one, you'd be suprised how many different cars use the same starter/bolt pattern/everything.

Thanks for your reply. I bought the car in the USA, where it was working fine. Then the car was picked up and shipped over to Europe, and when it arrived to where i live, it was no longer starting. The car had a "custom" power switch - a button that needed to be switch to ON while turning the key, and then to off again afterwords. We suspect that the shipping people did not understand this, and left the switch in ON position, which probably broke the starter. The battert was also flat (we have off course tried external power)

Anyway, they don't sell the eclipse in my country, so it's not the easiest car to get parts for... We got a new starter for eclipse, but it did not fit. And they have troubles finding a new one. If we knew the exact part number it would help... Or if we knew any other cars using the same starter?
