It was a second or two after I shifted into 4th. 3 warning lights came on; Alternator light, Battery light, and BRAKE. I kept driving for a bit and the car felt the same. I thought it was an electrical problem because of the alternator and battery lights, but why did the BRAKE light come on then?
Can it just be screwed up wires?
The first thing I tried was turning the engine off and restarting. Car is a 92 Eclipse GSX w/ABS.

More sounds like your alternator took a crap. Drop by your mechanic and get him to check the alt voltage, if you don't have a volt gauge.

These are the 3 lights that come on when the alternator is not putting out the voltage it should be. Your alternator is about to crap out on you.

p.s. I don't kow why the brake light comes on, but it just does. Silly mitsu

This is an example of what not to do when your alternator is about to die.....
Dont get me wrong, I did listen to all of the advice so far. But my buddies needed to be picked up from Camp Lejeune and go back to the air station. So while I began driving I was constantly monitoring my voltage on the turbo timer. Right as I got onto an onramp my voltage started creeping down, my lights started dimming, and I was getting ready to $hit myself. Unfortunatley for me there were no exits for the next couple of miles towards the base. And to add to that, the soonest I pulled over right before my car finally died was on an uphill on a bridge, very little room between the right lane and guardrail. SO, there my car sits, as I await the call from AAA to tell me whenever their databse gets back up so they can confirm my membership. Needless to say, I will be there too so I make sure they dont tow my AWD vehicle like a fwd.
Thank you for all the information. I did listen to it, I just made a bad mistake risking to pick some people up. Bad choice. Whenever I get this fixed I am going to kick my own ass. WTF

Make sure to get the Canadian version of the alternator. Same cost (maybe $10 difference or so), but the canadian one puts out a LOT more amperage to compensate for the DRL they need up there. Only difference is the coil windings, but if you have a good stereo, extra lighting, or just want more peace of mind, it's a better solution than getting another US-model.
