knocking grinding sound

When first start the car up it has this knock right before it gets to idle rpms and a not very loud knock at idle. now this is where it gets strange driving at 1500-2500 noise isn't really there and when you go above those rpms it's like a buzzing type thing sounds like there's making a vroom type noise but when you let off the gas in gear it sounds like something is grinding against something. Which makes me think something in the tranny and/or clutch flywheel area. but I don't know that's why I'm making a post anyone have any ideas what this could be? this noise started right after I had ran up 2nd and 3rd gear. to add it's hard to put into gear can trys to move we I try to put into gear with the clutch pedal to the floor

You know? I hate to be the one to say this, but you really need to take it to a professional technician and let them listen to it. Once they hear it they should be able to tell you what is going on. There's so many things that I know I would tell you the wrong one.

I am I just wanted to try and get some ideas first my engine only has 1200 miles on it so I was thinking my flywheel bolts may have come loose but I'll find out.

If you haven't got one already, go pick up a mechanic's stethescope. They are about $20 and well worth it. You can listen and help pinpoint where the noise is coming from, ie bell housing or tranny. I'd do that first, just in case.

What did you torque your flywheel bolts down to? I know Chilton's has the wrong torque specs in it (in the 40's) when it should be up around 96 ft/lbs if I recall correctly.
