HI guys,

Got a problem. I haven't went through the gears for a while cuz of the weather conditions. Well roads finally cleared off and not slick so yesterday I decided to get on it a lil bit. When I start to push 4 1/2 - 5 grand the car jerks. Not like a skip it like jerks changed the plugs today thinking thats what it was. Well it wasn't. Plug wires have never been changed since i've had the car. Almost a year and a half. Could this be the problem. Also It didn't seem like it was boosting up to par. Could this be involved. Also I had a major belt squeel a couple months ago. I had all the belts changed last march including timing belt and all tensioners idler ect.... Anyway alternator belt squeeled after that, got it tightened up and was fine till a couple months ago. Then I think mupltiple ones were sliping including the powersteering. So I slowly tightened them till they stopped squeeling. A couple weeks later I noticed the ps pump was making noice when I turned. Just thought it was time to get replaced. Then it kinda stopped untill it got cold. Now its really bad when I start it. The pully bearing is making the noice while its just sitting there. So I got to thinking about it and was wondering if I overtightened the belt and it put alot of strain on the pully? So if that was the case with the alternator too could it lead to the jerking.

I would really appreciat some help on the subject.

Thanks alot :dsm:

It sounds like you mights have a boost leak. Try doing a boost leak test and fix all of your leaks, spray your intercooler pipes down with soapy water when u do the test. I don't think its your wires but if you've had them that long I would recomend replacing them any ways.

I would also change the wires if they have been in there that long. In addition to checking for boost leaks, I would check to see if you have proper amount of fuel. It kind of sounds like a fuel related problem to me. Check the fuel pressure and check the resistance of ohms in the injectors. Maybe you have an injector clogged or stuck.
