Engine sounded like it backfired, No boost from Turbo?

Being a Newbie I apologize if my question is not placed in the correct forum. Recently my engine sounded like it backfired when I shifted from 1st to 2nd gear and accelerated. I have no boost from the turbo? Is the turbo hatched or is there a disconnected hose?

Step 1: Open hood to see if anything is incredibly obvious (i.e.- loose intercooler piping)

check you intercooler pipes to see if one blew off. does the car now run rich and like crap?? if so its probally an intercooler pipe that blew off.

does the car still drive? or does it start up and kind of sputter and die? i know when my upper intercooler pipe blew off while driving down the highway, it died, and i coasted to the shoulder, tried to start it up and it just putted a bit and then shut off, so i popped the hood and saw the tube got blown off, so i used a quarted to tighten it down until i got somewhere's to get a screwdriver (30 miles down the road haha) more than likely your problem is a leak somewhere in the intake tract.
