I have a 1990 laser RS turbo that i got a new turbo for and but another cam in the engine because the other cam has a chunk missing out of the lobe and the guy i bought it from just to the rocker out. So i got the car all back together and drove it, it was boosting fine and driving fine. On the way back home the engine just stopped and reved down then stalled. I towed it home and saw it was getting fuel but the plugs have gas on them there was spark but it looked kinda weak then i took the plugs out and cranked the engine to see if there was compression, it dosent feel like very much air is pushing on my hand how much would you feel without a compression tester anyways does anyone have an idea if its my compression or my coil or what, i could really use the help.

I posted this awhile ago then checked my timing and was using a half inch drive socket wrench to turn the crank pulley then the crank pulley was slipping ( as in the teeth on the timing belt werent holding it ) and the oil pump pulley fell off, there was no nut holding it and it looks like it broken or somthing, i was wondering do you think this was the problem with the timing and caused complete 0psi when i compression tested it and i was wondering what i should do so really good advice would be greatful because im tired of it never running.

see if you can put the sprocket back on...if you can then use locktite(green )on the nut and get a new timming belt and put it all back together. If you cant then you have to replace the oil pump.

Pull your head off and replace your bent valves and cracked valve guides to start. If your belt was'nt moving your cams when you turned the engine over, then you have a trashed timing belt probably from the oil pump sprocket bolt falling into it while it was running, when the timing belt gets trashed the valves get trashed from hitting the pistons while the crankshaft is spinning but the valves are sitting ducks and get hit by the pistons. This is why you have no compression. Now, go pull the head and have fun with that. :toobad: :dsm:
