Synchromesh - Waste Of Time?

Actually I have a few quick questions. My 2nd gear grinds now. Sucks I know. If I changed my fluids and added Synchromesh and/or something like Lucas Oil would this help the grind even in the least bit? Or is this a waste of time/money?

Also, now that my 2nd gear does grind now, how long do I have before it starts really affecting my transmission? I can only imagine the damage it is doing and the metal particles that are floating around.

If you get it from Auto Zone, it'll cost you all of $15. I'd not bother with the Lucas.
I can't feel how bad your transmission is from here.

Normal to fast shifting still grinds but if I give it a few seconds I can get away with no grind. Shifting down from 3rd into 2nd is a joke. It grinds bad and takes a small miracle of god not to. You can feel the gears spinning.

The transmission shop I use for my rebuilds does not recommend Lucas. However, I have 2 transmissions that are using Mobil 1 engine oil. If I don't have any problems I may recommend it here. They are giving me a 12/12 warranty with this oil so they are putting their money where their mouth is.
