my antenna doesnt go down any more!! i checked the connection in the back of the radio and it was good... when i ride with the top down it looks pretty lame with the antenna up :sosad: so i was looking to solve the problem. any ideas on what could be wrong? can i fix it? or should i buy a new antenna; i like the way newer cars have short stubby antennas that dont go up and down (shark fin antenna?) anyone have one of these or know if they are avail. for our cars? thanx for any input!! :thumb:

it's a pretty common problem with our cars, the power antennas seem to quit working after awhile. personally, i'd just install a nice small aftermarket one and call it good.

i just got pissed off at my antenna one day and i ripped it off.. now it just sits broken right out of the base.. i still get good radio reception so i think i'll keep it for now..

I personally got tired of repairing/replacing the power antenna on every car I've ever owned. I always put in a manual switch to keep it up (until I go thru a carwash) for the Mn. winters here. I finally had it and put in a fixed mast. I've never been happier. :D
