I need to have my flywheel machined, but according to RRE having an auto parts store do the work is not advisable.

  • Is that opinion the consensus of this board as well?
  • If so, could someone recommend a machine shop in Colorado?
Thanks guys

Basically any machine shop with a good reputation can machine the flywheel. As for an auto parts store...I wouldn't take anything there. I sent you a PM with the name of someone in the Boulder area that should know a good machine shop.

Machine shops who do flywheels often do them one after another. So long as they're competent enough to know about the step, you'll be fine.
A shop that effs up flywheels doesn't get business from car shops.
No cause for alarm.

I live in the Springs and had NAPA Auto Parts Machine Shop take care of my flywheel. It seem to be fine and I have been running on it with a stage 3 clutch since Feb 2005.
