Car: 1990 Tsi Awd /w 5 speed manual

Ok on my way home few days back the car decided to act like it was going to die on me, so I pulled over to the side and it thus died. Car would turn over but wouldnt start. My bro towed me home and then we went to try and figure out the cause. I have spark, I have fuel pressure yet no fuel is getting to the plugs. We pulled the plugs after turning the car over and standing on the gas and there was no hint of fuel on the plugs at all. So what are some ideas on the problem and solution?

Thanks

Anyone know where or which fuses control the computer? Hopefully this may turn out to be as simple as that but I cant figure out where the right fuses are so anyhelp would be great.

Thanks

1. Check the MPI fuse, one of the three (1st from driverside) fuses in the black box right off the positive terminal of the battery.

2. Pull the ECU and check for capacitor leaks.

3. Compression test.

Ok, MPI fuse looks good, is there a place where I can find how to pull the ECU, my bro can do it, he just wants a how-to since hes not a dsm guy and isnt very familiar with my car.

Thanks

in order to remove the ecu remove the side panels on either side of the shifter
the ecu is behind the radio
there are three bolts that hold the ecu in I think there are two that are on the driver side and
one one the pass side
the harness is on the bottom of the ecu there are three plugs that you have to remove
pull the ecu out from the passanger side
remember to take the battery cable off

Thanks guys, very helpful. Now to just trackdown my bro and get to this!
