chtown,
its a 90 tsi awd 5 speed and i just recently put a used motor in it motor works awesome sat around for a while but rund and works perfect teh car has a walbro 255 pump in it and when the car is cold u have to try and start it 3 or 4 times before it will finally start up. when its warm just touch teh key its fires right up! What could be causing this?? FPR sticking from sitting around for a while i have another to try on it?? what else could be causing it to do this?? when warm start just liek it should but leave it untill cold or over night and its very cranky to get going!

Make sure the the top o-ring on the WAlbro did not "kink" when was installed in the fuel line "hood". If it did (as happened during my first install) the connection will not fully seal so the system will not pressurize as quickly, nor will the pump flow 100%.

On warm startups, the fuel feed still holds some residual pressure (if the o-ring leak is not too bad and car not sitting too long) and the FPR module cuts vacume to the FPR to boost fuel pressure so is much easier to start.

Make sure you put a dab of oil on the o-ring which will help keep it from binding :dsm:
