Just did a head swap about 2 weeks ago, When I first installed my timing belt it was little close to the left edge of the cam gears. I just looked today and now the belt is slightly hanging off the edge of the right side of the cam gears. I'm going to pull the lower timing cover and take a closer look tomorrow, but thought I'd write this thread and get some insight. Tensioner lose? Maybe idler or tensioner pulley lose? Cams lose? New belt? Didn't replace the belt because it only had 6k on it and still looked good. Car runs great but I'm really worried the belt is going to rub the cover or worst come all the way off

Centering of the belt on the pulleys is done by your crank gear. There's a little metal piece on the back side and usually the harmonic balancer on the outside that holds it in alignment. If your tensioner was loose on the block or something like that or you left the metal spacer out you could have this problem. Also something out of place and rubbing the belt and holding it out could come into play. I would take it back apart and look closely at what is going on. I don't recommend running it until you find the reason the belt is not centered. May save you a ton of money.

Good Luck
