here's the deal, I was racing an S4 on the high and all of a sudden my car starts knocking (dsmlink setup up to flash CEL when it knocks, no laptop not connected no log) and the car backfires 3 times (I left off right away) friends behind me said the car shot 3 massive flames. I shifted into 5th gear driving normal now and 3 seconds after I shift the car shuts off. tried to start it back up and it wouldn't, so anyways I feared the worst thinking I might have blown the engine after seeing that it knocked. Well there was no fluids on the ground (or anywhere else for that matter. So I pulled the spark plugs and checked them, found a little bit of oil on cylinder #2. AHAHAA this sucks it's too dark and too late to do anything tonight but other than a compression test I don't know what else to look for. Oh also the engine does turn over (although the starter IS going out, I don't see how this could be my problem, this won't kill the car), and the timing belt does turn. We tried to push start it and it starts, but only for a second or 2, and runs really weak. So any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Figured it out......I started testing/probing the CAS and fuel injectors and everything seemed to be working, but today the car wouldn't start at all and I had no spark. Well while I was poking around in there, I noticed that they ingniter plug was loose (plus a little corrosion on it). Put some die electric grease in there and presto change-o. It fired right up.
