stock tach not working on gsx

today i was taking out my indiglo gauges on my 97 gsx because they dont light up anymore and after i got everything back together the rpm needle on the stock tach is dead. it reads 0 with tach doesnt move at all... what can be done to fix this? sounds like the tach is just busted and needs to be replaced or what?

Double check all your connections. Wiggle the connectors to ensure they are making good contact.
