ok so the other day i bottomed out in my eclipse and thought nothing of it untill i pushed my clutch back in and felt nothing. Next i realized that i couldnt shift into gear so i pulled over. I turned the car off and looked under the car. about equal or maybe a little behind the front wheels all this fluid was spilling out. I then tried to start the car in gear and it just started jumping and wouldnt start...can somebody please help me i dont know whats wrong and have no money. Thanks for any help i appreciate it.

If what your saying is the clutch sits on the floor and does not come up you.
A. blew your slave cyl.
B. broke a clutch line

so figure out where that fluid is coming from. If its the slave cyl. replace it then bleed the system. If its the clutch line replace it and bleed the system. DO NOT TRY AND DRIVE THE CAR. I don't Care who Say's what on hear about, i drove mine with no clutch or my dad was a pilot he says its OK. fix it right there on the side of the road.

the car does not go into gear therefore i cant drive it, the pedal doesnt sit on the floor it comes back up but honestly when pushing it down there is no pressure pushing back its like sticking your foot in a pool of water...again thanks for the help anymore advice? i appreciate you guys so much!

My slave cylinder blew and my clutch had the same feeling. I would deffinitely look into this first. Try and get under the car and see where the fluid is coming from. It has to be the slave cylinder or a clutch line, but I'm leaning towards the slave.

What is the clutch fluid level?

While the car is off, can you shift into each gear?

while the car is off i can shift gears but not while its on and when i put it into 1st and try to start the car it jumps and goes crazy

It's your slave cylinder or there's no fluid in the system dude...theres like 4 main components to a clutch system.

Clutch master: check for leaks
Clutch slave: check to make sure it pushes back the rod out.
Clutch itself: should be fine unless theres' no fluid
Clutch reservoir: check to make sure theres enough fluid in there.

When my clutch slave cylinder went i could shift the car in gear with it off but not while it was running.

Well just wanted to say thanks to everyone and i am convinced its the slave cylindr ill find out for sure tomorrow. I feel really comfortable here now and hope to meet many new people. DSM for life. Thanks again!
