Can that be done in a dsm :confused:

OK, first the problem: 1st Question

Pulled into friends house, rev to dump the bov , got out of the car, turbo timer started its thing, and then, CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK, no oil pressure. So we shut it off, look around, at first before the loss of oil pressure sunk in, crank pully, cuz with 120k on the odom, we figured that, well not that. so the next few days, thinking what could it be, could my front case/oil pump failed?? i just replaced the gasket on it along with the other gaskets down there. Any ways, i drain the oil, and nothing in the pan or magnet. so im thinking maybe BS bearing, rod, something went south. The sound is coming from the A/C pump area, well around that side of the block. I havent yet to drop the pan cuz its a pain, tcase has to be droped again to get it off.

So what happend? LOL, i know its something but what :confused:


2nd question:

Rebuild it or go 6bolt or build up a 6bolt??

I've though of getting the 7bolt rebuilt but not sure, CW-ing an auto is rare but it has happend and a 120k block is it worth it? unsure of the damage inside at the present time. Get a stock 6bolt block, do the magnus 1g in a 2g engine swap and be done with it. Or get a 6bolt and build it up, but i havent a clue on the .20 over and .10 over stuff and such. Thanks, it looks like after 5months of down time for a trans and a few other fixes becomes another 5months of down time :cry: :sosad: I love me car :cry:
 
Dont mess with 7 bolts...when it dies, let it go. Building a 6 bolt or not is up to your walet. I would atleast do a stock bottom end rebuild if the motor you get has over 100k and just all the belts etc if it has less than that.
