i have a 91 tsi awd with about 89,000 miles, i did a compression check about 2 weeks ago and in order it was 115 120 160 160 then i did a wet test and my two low cylinders went good, so i know i need at least rings.
but my problem is when i changed out my exhaust manifold to a sce gasket made for better sealing, my return pipe started leaking at the flex section. so i have a temp fix on that and no leak there.
NOW it seems that I'm getting a pool of oil right behind the exh manifold and it is dripping down onto my downpipe and i have really low oil pressure and the car after its warmed up if i idle too long its RPM dip low and then it finally dies out, and is a bi*** to restart, but my oil level isn't getting too low too fast.
so my question would be if i change my headgasket and the rings, would that fix my leak since i know that no hose or pipe is leaking?
