Here is my situation. I have been working on swapping a 6-bolt motor into my car over the past several months. Today I finally got everything hooked all back up correctly(I think). I have a AEM EMS which had never given me problem before, but the O2 voltage is at 2.50 and won't go any higher. Berfore the swap the voltage was higher I'm pretty sure. I double checked the timing on the crank as well as the position of the 1g CAS before I installed those parts. I have the plugs swaped and the injectors how they came from the factory. My friend that I was working on this with thought that the timing must be off so we fiddled with the 1g CAS in attempt to get things in spec so that the engine would fire. How it is now the CAS is rotated as far to the right as it can. I am not sure what kind of a relation this is to timing so if someone could let me know that would be great. MAP sensor is reading -.56PSI so that seems to be about right. AIT temps are at 90degrees where I am.
Now here is what happens when you try and turn the car on. It will crank over and kind of sound like it is almost starting but isn't able to catch itself if that makes any sense. I actually thought that it was going to start a few times, but it never did. The first two times that we tried it the engine backfired if that help you guys any. If I remember correctly I have my crank advance set at 17 degrees, crank injector pulse at around 45, and the 1g cas adjusted all the way to the front side of the engine. If any of you want to see the cal that I am running on the EMS let me know and I'll email it to you. Any help would be appreciated as I am at a loss for what to try next. I was really hoping that this would just fire the first time I turned the key.
I now have no spark. Would putting in NGK BP7ES plugs how they come from the store .5 and not gapping then to around .28 cause there to be no more spark? I messed around with the cal file and really am stuck now. Thinking that I might have to give in and take it to someone to look at when I actually have money again.
