alright guys i hae a question, i just bought a 1998 eclipse GST the guy rebuilt the motor and he said he honed out the cylinders and put new pistons and rings in it, well it smokes blue smoke really bad so i checked the turbo it was gone, so i replaced that with a 14b now it still smokes, i was wondering if i could be the rings? the motor has 145 compression and only has 300 miles on the rebuil i am stomped on what to do. should i replace the PCV valve lots od oil in intake, so im gonna do that and put this new 16G turbo on i hope that works but any other recomendations would be good also, i just hope it is not the rings, the service limit is 133 on a 2g so i think i am fine for now what do u think?

He means to give it a bit longer to let them seat

Good luck ! :talon:

if he simply honed it and just put new stock pistons/rings in its possible the "honing" made the bore a little larger, enough to not let the rings fully seat.

Personally I would never buy a car that is fresh off a rebuild.

well 300 miles into the break in it wasan't smoking, but all of a sudden it started smoking because of turbo was bad, we replaced that for a 50$ 14b used and i was wondering if that turbo could be bad also? had little shaft play but im going to replace it with a 16G off my old car that i know there is nothin wrong with it.
