Ok, I drove my car to a restaurant for breakfast, come out a half-hour later and the car wont start. It turns over and i can hear the fuel pump so im pretty sure im getting fuel. Am i not getting spark? What do i check for and what could it be. It's a 90 tsi.

Smell your ECU for the infamous dead fish smell.
If the smell test is good...

Check for spark by pull a wire and grounding it to the frame.
Check for fuel by cracking a fuel line into a container and cranking it over for a second or two.
If both test out fine run a compression test.

does it just click??? if it does check the starter!! one cable on top of the starter can fall off  its happen to me before!

WTF I'm sorry man i didn't read what u wrote. its not a starter problem. did u check the coil with a volt meter? check to make sure the harness is plugged in good?

If you check and most likely find that you don't have spark then I would point you at the cam or crank sensors. They can be tested as they should have a ground and a positive and then if you crank it over the third wire should give a signal.

I checked the coil with an ohm meter and that was testing good, the crank sensor seems good, but i cannot for the life of me find the cam sensor. Could anyone point me to where it is? thanks for all the suggestions.

The Camshaft Angle Sensor (CAS) aka camshaft position sensor is located on the left side of the engine on the end of the intake camshaft (near the battery). On a 1G CAS senses the position of both the camshaft and the crankshaft.
